ISO/TS 16949 Compliance Can we help you convert your existing QS 9000 Automotive Quality Management Systems to ISO/TS 16949? Upgrading to ISO/TS 16949 The ISO/TS 16969 Quality Management Systems Standards have been formally introduced to the world by the International Automotive Task Force (IATF) and Japan Automobile Manufacturing Association, Inc. (JAMA). Suppliers to the automotive industry who are already QS 9000 certified, have until December of 2006 to transition to the new Standards. ISO/TS 16949 defines the particular requirements for the application of ISO 9001:2000 for automotive production and relevant service part organizations. Significant Changes ISO/TS 16949 is a complete rewrite of the QS9000 and includes the Quality System Requirements Standard, ISO9001:2000. The 20 elements of QS 9000 have been replaced with the following 8 sections:
New Requirements The Standard now requires greater emphasis on customer focus and enhancement of customer satisfaction. It also requires setting measurable quality objectives and analysis of performance results to assess effectiveness of the quality management system. The Standard also requires that the sequence and interaction of the processes needed for the quality management system be determined. This means that the new Standard encourages a very strong process approach. ISO/TS 16949 Process-Based Model
